How to Clean Lotion Out of Carpet?

Getting rid of lotion stains on the carpet is not easy but with the proper steps, you can make this task more manageable! Here’re various methods of how to clean lotion out of carpet:

A. Cleaning Agents

Here’s how to get lotion out of carpet with seven simple and easy steps:

1. Blot with a white paper towel or scrape with a dull knife or tablespoon to remove as much lotion as possible.

2. Now turn on the vacuum cleaner and place it on the carpet. Allow it to dry once or twice more.

3. Make a cup of detergent powder with warm water only and use it to dab the stained area.

4. Allow the mixture to sit for about 5 minutes, and then sponge it out with a new sponge and fresh, clean water.

5. Using a vacuum cleaner, dry the damp carpet once again. Check to see if the stain has been properly removed once it has dried. But if the stain is so stubborn and does not come off the carpet, then you should definitely try the following steps.

5. Take only a small amount of dry-cleaning solvent/ isopropyl abrasive alcohol/lemon in the towel. If the stain is deep in the pile, dab it with a clean cloth until the stain is gone or no color is transferred to the fabric.

Allowing the alcohol to penetrate the backing will cause the latex bond to break down. Rub in one direction at a time if the spot is only on the surface.

Never use a circular motion to remove the spot as this may destroy the texture. Stop if the spot is removed. If not, go to the next step.

6. If the above process fails to remove it, try some chemical cleaners to restore it to its previous form. Mix one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with three teaspoons of plain water. Do not use any hot water in this area.

Again, note that hydrogen peroxide only applies to any light-colored carpet. Hydrogen peroxide contains high profile bleach, including 3% H2O2.

7. Blot and repeat until the carpet is stain free. Light will cause peroxide to change back to water so no rinsing is necessary. Apply pad of paper towels and weigh down with brick.

B. K2r Spot Lifter & Rubbing Alcohol

Here’s how to use these effective products to get rid of lotion stains:

1. To begin, use cleaning agents to sponge the stained areas. Using K2r spot lifter or any other cleaning agent, make a thick solution. You can use a small spray bottle here.

2. Use circular motions to remove the stains after softly sprinkling them over the area. Move your hand away from the middle and back and forth. Repeat this process 2-3 times more until the colors are light.

3. If the remaining stains do not go away, use a cotton pad with the same solution and rub it gently on the stains. Alternatively, rubbing alcohol can be used to clean stained carpets.

However, don’t forget to put on your gloves. If it picks up color, change the buffer. To remove stains from solid materials, tap or scrape with any soft bristle tool.

4. Vacuum the carpet completely or wash it off with clean water. Allow it to air dry before spreading it out on the floor.

C. Baking Soda or Corn Starch

1. Scrape off excess lotion.

2. Sprinkle baking soda, cornstarch, or another absorbent on the stain.

3. Let it stand for 10 to 15 minutes, and then vacuum.

D. Baby Wipes
